How many issues do you print every year?
We currently have two seasonal issues of LittleONE Baby – a Winter issue out in May and a Summer issue out in November. We also have an issue of LittleONE Kids out in September and we are hoping to be able to eventually run two issues per year of this also…so you will soon get a LittleONE fix four times a year! {top}

Why so few? We want more!
Well, thank you! That is great that you enjoyed reading us so much. Everyone who is involved in LittleONE is a mum (or dad) and full time carer of their own little one. So, the magazines, as much as we love them, fit in around our families. We figure this makes us all better equipped to live by our mantra of ‘happy mum (or dad) means happy family!’ {top}

We sell in loads of newsagents all over Australia and New Zealand, as well as Borders Bookstores and Mag Nation Stores in Australia, and Foodstuffs, Whitcoulls & Borders and Independent Bookstores in New Zealand. You can absolutely purchase back issues from us. The cost is $14.95 for the issue and then just a measly $2.50 to go towards postage and handling. Simply supply us with your credit card details (send to mail@littleonemag.com.au) - name, number, expiry date and card type)) OR you can make a payment online:

Then, just let us know your name and address and we will pop a copy in the mail! If you do live outside of Australia, postage is $15 (sorry! Blame Australia Post for that one…) but we are still happy to send you copies!
Alternatively, you can subscribe online through Exact Edition (www.exacteditions.com) for just $20 and as well as receiving the latest issue online (or on your iPhone or iPad) you can also upload all of our past issues. {top}

I know, right? There are some lovely things in each issue – especially in those gorgeous rooms! We try to credit most things, or make mention of them in the article, but sometimes we miss something that you may love. What makes you so you different from every other parenting magazines out there?
We are so glad you asked! We know that our readers are intelligent and creative people, who most certainly don’t need to be told how to ‘be a good parent’ or how to look after themselves or their little ones. We know that what they want are great ideas, a whole lot of inspiration and the chance to hear, honestly, about other people’s lives and experiences.
We also know that our readers love to see beautiful new products and special things for their little ones. They might not always be able to afford some of the things we showcase, but then again, maybe they can. We don’t mind either way. That’s what makes us so great. In fact, as well as showing you all the things you could buy, we also make sure that we show you loads of lovely things you could make as well…just in case you are creatively inclined!
Finally, we know that our readers know that real life can be beautiful. All of our room profiles are as is…we don’t go in with a fancy stylist and make them look that way. We also use real life regular people as our models – our maternity models and mums are short-tall-skinny-curvy and we think they are all beautiful. Our babies are all different, all unique and not photoshopped to look, well, like babies. That is them and we think they are perfect just as they are. Like you too, actually. So, we like to think that our readers can join those in our pages and come to know them like a friend. And know that parenthood is something beautiful that needs to be celebrated. {top}

 

My kid is the cutest in the world. How can I get him/her in your pages/on your front cover?
We would have to agree…because we think ALL kids are gorgeous. But, you see, it isn’t quite that easy. We generally only use kids aged 9 months through to around 14 months for our photos. 10 months is awesome because generally they are more than happy just to sit around and smile at strangers. We have photographers all over the country, and different things and photographed by different photographers. Most babies are only cool to sit and be photographed for around 20 minutes at a time as well, so we try to make sure that our babies live by where our planned shoots are and we are therefore less likely to break them.
So, in summary, if you have a baby who happens to be the right age, the right size, live near our photographer at the exact time we plan our shoot and Venus is in line with Mars, you might be in with a shot. LittleONE already has a small team of regular freelancers who do writing for us. Whilst we are happy to take submissions, or resumes with samples of work, unfortunately we can’t make any promises. {top}

I am the best photographer. How do I get my photos in your magazine?
We always love to hear about talented photographers. The people in our pages come from all over the world and we like to use a photographer who is located nearby, so the more wonderful and talented people we know about, the better. Please feel free to drop us a line at mail@littleonemag.com.au and share with us some of your favourite little people shots. Make sure you also let us know where you are located!

I sell some great products and think they would love fab on your pages. How can I get them in there?
We are always on the look out for gorgeous new products or items that may help make a parent’s life a little easier. Our call outs for products are in January (for Winter items) and July (for Summer items). We generally ask that people provide us with low resolution images and a full description to start with, and if we need more detail from there we will be in touch. The better presented your call out email to us is, the greater chance you have of us including a few of your products. An example of an awesome call out response email is here. We would love it if everyone could do this!
Once we decide what we are loving and what best works with our stories, we will send an email to ask for physical product to be sent in, or for high resolution images to be emailed. So, when you give us suggestions please make sure that you are able to follow up if required.

Who is your target market?
Our primary reader is aged between 25 and 40. She is female, educated and successful in her career prior to starting a family. She has a disposable income and is happy to spend her money on items that she believes are good for her and her children. She is confident shopping online and intelligent enough to make her own decisions. She inspired by advertising and media, but does not like being told how to think. {top}

Where do you sell your magazine?
Hard copies of our magazine are sold throughout book stores and selected newsagents all over Australia and New Zealand.
We have recently included an option to buy and view our magazine (and all back issues) online at Exact Editions (www.exacteditions.com). This option includes links from the magazine to our advertisers sites, offering an opportunity to be able to measure ROI a little more specifically. {top}

When are your deadlines for each issue?
For our Winter issue (out early May) we require all advertising artwork in by late March. For our Summer issue (out early November) we require all advertising artwork in by late September.
Our special annual – LittleONE Kids – will be out in late September and advertising artwork will be required in early August. {top}

What are your rates?
Our media kit, with rates and information can be found here. We have quite a few options though and regardless of your budget or timeframes, if you think you share a target market with us, we are sure we will be able to help you in some way. {top}

Why should I advertise with you instead of…?
Good question. If your target market is pretty much the same as ours (see How many issues do you print every year? and What makes you so you different from every other parenting magazines out there?) and you would like to be involved in a quality publication that makes people feel great, then it really is a no brainer. With just two seasonal issues a year, your money goes further. We are on shelves longer and feedback from our readers indicates that many treat our publication as a coffee table book and refer back to it time and time again. Whilst our circulation figures are not as large as some other parenting magazines, we are able to target our readers very specifically and we believe in quality over quantity every time. And if you need further convincing, hold a copy in your hands, read the articles, see the stunning images…and you will see that we are quite different to anything else that is on the shelves today. {top}
